The Fries jams are an affiliated venue on the famous Crooked Road – Virginia’s Heritage Music Trail. \nBring a banjo\, dulcimer\, guitar\, fiddle\, or bass\, and join in the music circle. And there’s dancing all evening. If you don’t know the traditional two-step waltz\, just ask and someone will help. The jams are for all ages. \nDoors open every Thursday by 5:30 p.m. and the music runs from 7 – 9 p.m. During a break\, around 8 p.m.\, there’s a real cake walk and the winner in this jolly tradition takes home a cake or other baked treat. \nThe jams are free\, but donations are gratefully accepted. Refreshments are available. \n
